You probably may have heard of people who do study celestial objects and then are able to make correct predictions of someone’s life. They are called astrologers, which then gives away the meaning of astrology as the study of celestial objects to determine events here on earth. However, don’t confuse them with astronomers because astronomy is a science. This is where all the instruments and space explorations to the moon and other planets come in. However, it is good to note that Astrology brought about Astronomy when the Babylonians, who were the inventors of Astrology, introduced it to the Greeks. With scientists such as Plato and Aristotle, weather patterns could be predicted and Astronomy was born.
Astrology prides itself in that no instruments are involved, only the astrologers’ mind is in play and somehow, they can outline for you your life, both present, and future. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that astrology has been an integral part of civilizations for centuries. Man’s insatiable desire to decipher what the future holds has ensured that this ancient art was never lost. Instead, it took root and has been around for way too long.
One practical way of interacting with astrology is in zodiac signs and horoscopes. Check out your local daily newspaper and you will be sure to find them somewhere around the crossword puzzles. They are 12 in number with each sign representing people that were born in a specific month. These signs explain what your fate holds based on the month you were born. Horoscopes, on the other hand, are a chart of the zodiac signs with the earth at the center.
Belief in astrology is based on the fact that celestial objects such as the sun, the moon and the planets all possess powers which can then be channeled through astrology to make these predictions. Whether this is a fact or fiction, one may not tell because the claims cannot be scientifically tested and proven. However, one thing is sure, Astrology is bound to be around for a long time as it has gained traction over the years.
