Most people have no idea what they want tattooed. Consults with artists take time, and usually they expect you to come prepared so they know what tattoo to draw. Other people browse wall art that thousands of other people have. And who wants that?
The best thing you can do to figure out what you want as a tattoo is to look at some of the free resources.
There are loads of free apps from the Play store and the iStore. The best ones are Piercing & Tattoo Free, which allows you to try piercings and tattoos by superimposing them onto a picture of yourself so you’ll know exactly what it looks like. Google also has a FREE Tattoo Design app which is like a search engine for tattoos.
There’s probably more variety here than on Google. You can see what other people think are good tattoos and get reference pictures. This is also great because you can narrow down your tattoo search with keywords. This is good for getting a board of ideas where you can save your tattoo ideas for later as well.
This is a blog, gallery, and search site where you can connect and book direct with artists and see their work. It also has lots of helpful articles about tattoos and taking care of them. You can check to see if the artist you like does good work, and if they can do a similar style to what you’re looking for by looking at their portfolio.
This is a flash search engine, meaning it’s a pre-made design library. These are designs you’re likely to see on the wall in tattoo shops so they’re probably not going to be unique. Some of them are also a bit dated but there’s loads to look at and get ideas from.
